JANUARY 2, 2025
For our first meeting of 2025, we met on Zoom and had 8 attendees (7 PWS, 1 SLP). A first-timer (a 16 yr-old) joined us.
For intros, everyone shared something about their relationship with their stutter at age 16. We covered concepts that may have been new to the first-timer as we shared teenage memories of acceptance, avoidance, disclosure, feelings of isolation, and more.
The focus of our meeting was to use question prompts to spark conversations about stuttering. I reckon kismet happened because these question prompts allowed us to share broad perspectives about stuttering with the first-timer. (The question prompts are below.)
Everyone left with a better understanding (and appreciation) of their stutter.
